Ilana Simons is an animator and filmmaker who has taught at New York University, The New School, The School for Making Thinking, the 92nd St Y, and the Abrons Arts Center. Her work has screened at The Cannes Film Festival, Hyperallergic.com, Poets & Writers website, Animation Block Party, and in Alain de Botton’s School of Life series.

She writes a blog for Psychology Today and originated Tin House magazine’s online site for video poems, Tin House Reels. She wrote and performed the one-woman show All Together Now at the New York Fringe Festival and is the author of A Life of One’s Own: A Guide to Better Living through the Work and Wisdom of Virginia Woolf (Penguin).

She has PhDs in English Literature and Psychology, and has a private practice in clinical psychology in Los Angeles. You can contact her here: ilana.simons@gmail.com
